Pacific Gateway Center Diversified Agriculture Program
Hawaii Diversified Agriculture
Pacific Gateway Center is continually exploring diversified farming systems, a "set of methods and tools developed to produce food sustainably by leveraging ecological diversity at plot, field, and landscape scales." (http://dfs.berkeley.edu/diversified-farming-systems/)
Working with the farmers, we look for opportunities to engage in hydroponics, aquaponics, vermiculture, permaculture, SPIN (small plot intensive farming), that permit more efficient use of land, use of nutrients, and that replenish natural ecosystems.
