Pacific Gateway Center's Social Enterprises
Social Enterprises -- PGC has developed several key commercial enterprises with social objectives that advance our mission to benefit our targeted populations. PGC has incubator sites for fledgling entrepreneurs that are sources of job training and job creation. The Pig and the Lady at Lemongrass Café is a meaningful example of PGC's incubation of a new and award-winning eatery that creates opportunities for job training in the food industry and features local small entrepreneurs, food producers, and their products. Our Culinary Kitchen Incubator houses 11 Department of Health certified professional preparation and baking kitchens and storage in Kalihi that encourage food-related start-ups that benefit countless markets and retail outlets.
In summer 2015, PGC will launch its new bottling facility at its Culinary Kitchen Incubator site, creating jobs and supporting small entrepreneurs with dreams of bottling sauces, dressings, jellies, beverages, and other items.
