Pacific Gateway Center (a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization) is seeking a part-time intern for an Accounting/Office Clerk position at our Umi Street office in Kalihi. We are a culturally diverse office with a long-standing reputation of successful programs for immigrant, refugee, and economically disadvantaged communities in Hawaii. With aloha and integrity, we are empowering our community to achieve self-sufficiency. 

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Process daily A/R receipts and post to Quickbooks

  • Assist with A/R invoicing

  • Assist with collections

  • Receive payments from clients

  • Answer telephones


  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required 

  • Bachelors in Accounting or some Accounting coursework, not required, but a plus

  • Experience with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, and Outlook) required

  • Experience with G-Suite not required but a plus

  • Must be professional, dependable, and detail-oriented

  • Must be able to multi-task and prioritize duties

  • Must have good judgment and be discrete with confidential information

  • Must be a team player

Some training will be provided.  The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and be a critical thinker.  Patience and a good sense of humor will serve well in this position.

This is an internship position, and accommodations can be made for course credit with your educational institution. Schedule is flexible and the tenure for this position is for the 2019-2020 academic year.
