Title:          Assistant Restaurant Manager  

Location:   Honolulu   

 Maria Bonita is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Assistant Restaurant Manager.

As the Assistant Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for the daily operation of the business. This includes front-of-house oversight, managing the employees, customer service, and fiscal responsibilities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:       

  • Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, including welcoming guests, seating customers, taking orders, and ensuring a high level of customer service.

  • Supervising, training, and scheduling a small team of servers, bartenders, and other front-of-house staff. Assisting with recruitment of new staff as required.

  • Assisting in the management of the restaurant's finances, including overseeing inventory, managing budgets, and monitoring sales.

  • Responding to customer complaints and feedback, ensuring that all guests have a positive experience and that the restaurant's reputation is maintained.

  • Ensuring that the restaurant complies with all health and safety regulations and that the kitchen and dining areas are kept clean and sanitary.

  • Assisting in the development and implementation of marketing and promotional campaigns to attract new customers and increase sales.

  • Assisting in the development and management of the restaurant's menu, ensuring that dishes are priced appropriately and that the menu remains fresh and appealing to customers.

  • Creating schedules for staff and ensuring that the restaurant has adequate staffing levels to meet customer demand.

  • Maintaining accurate records of inventory levels, ordering supplies as needed, and managing waste to minimize costs.

  • Preparing and submitting regular reports to the Restaurant Manager on the restaurant's performance and making recommendations for improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS:

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Knowledge of the food service operations, including food preparation, service, and presentation.

  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations, including food safety and sanitation.

  • Knowledge of basic financial management and accounting principles. 

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

  • Ability to use point-of-sale (POS) systems and other technology.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

  • 1-3 years of experience working in a restaurant.

  • Proven experience leading and managing teams.

  • Experience in a customer-facing role.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • ·Food Safety Manager certification.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • The Assistant Restaurant Manager is expected to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time and be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

  • Fast-paced environment that may involve exposure to heat, smoke, and noise.

SALARY AND HOURS:

  • $20.00 hourly

  • 40 hours per week

  • Nights and weekends required

 

Title:          Dishwasher  

Location:   Honolulu   

Maria Bonita is seeking a dedicated, organized dishwasher who enjoys working as part of a team in a fast-paced culinary environment. The dishwasher’s duties include removing soiled plates and flatware from tables, washing them thoroughly, and resetting tables in preparation for the next party. They may also restock items, unload delivery trucks, help prepare cook stations, clean appliances and machines, empty and clean trash receptacles, and other duties, as needed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:       

  • Ensuring the availability of clean dishes by bussing tables, washing dishes, pots, pans, and flatware, and resetting dining areas.

  • Preparing dining areas and kitchen for next shift by cleaning and restocking dining areas and cook stations.

  • Cleaning machines and appliances used in the kitchen, such as coffee makers, pots, and pans, mixers, etc.

  • Unloading and storing deliveries.

  • Sweeping and mopping floors, especially in the event that items are broken or spilled.

  • Taking out the trash and rinsing garbage cans.

  • Supporting other restaurant staff members by assisting with other tasks, as needed.

  • Reporting kitchen accidents or violations of food safety codes and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

 SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Ability to stand or walk for 8-hour shifts and lift at least 20 pounds.

  • Willingness to comply with all food safety procedures.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations, including food safety and sanitation.

  • High school diploma or equivalent. 

    SALARY, HOURS, AND BENEFITS:

  • $15/hour

  • 40 hours per week

  • must be available nights and weekends
